I am using some "Transition Networks" Fiber transcievers with some REALLY OLD Cisco 2900 switches.
Can someone tell me if a transceiver is needed on the other end also or is it possible to connect the other end of the Fiber to a GBIT interface card on the switch ?

We had a similar setup before and we did needed an other transceiver. We tried with a GBIT and we never could get the link up.
