I've got the x550e with Fireware Pro. We're sharing an 8 mb connection between the firebox and some other devices and I'm trying to get the firebox to cap everything behind it so that it can only use 3.5mb. I figured Traffic Management policies were the key here.

I made the entry and set Maximum Bandwidth to 3500Kbps and applied this to every policy on the system. Looking at my bandwith meeter though, it doesn't seem to do one darn thing. Am I missing something? Anybody else ever use this feature?

Dustin,

In Policy Manager, go to Network > Configuration, then highlight your external interface, select configure, not select the advanced tab.

Under traffic management, you can set your Outgoing interface bandwidth in Kbps or Mbps.

This setting limits ALL traffic.

You can verify this by looking at your bandwidth monitor.
