Are there any options to finding out how many emails a mailbox receives during a single day? I am looking for anyway to track this information. Are there any logs on the exchange server that would track how many emails were delivered to a certain mailbox?

Here is an example. We have numberous mailboxes that are for entire departments. An email gets delivered to these mailboxes for review. Next, an email is taking from these mailboxes by the next available CSR and is moved from the department mailbox to their personal mailbox for processing. The next CSR does the same for the next email in the queue.

I know this may sound crude and confusing, but it works pretty well. I now have management asking if there is a way to track how many emails are received each day to the main department mailboxes. Any ideas?

Thanks.

One way would be to open the previous day's message tracking log in excel, and sort on column 8.

Another way is to write a script that uses WMI to do roughly the same thing. A sample can be found here:

You'll want to use RecipientAddress property to filter on. Available properties are listed here:

Thanks for that information.

One silly question though. Once I have the data for the daily emails for a particular mailbox, how do I go about exporting this data to a .csv?

If you open the log with excel, the import from text file dialog will come up. use tab as a delimiter and you're in.
