Is there way to log all file deletion in Windows 2000 Advanced Server (like user xy deleted file).

Recently we have lost file from directory that was in Windows Replication, but we are not sure was it replication problem (most probably) or somebody intentionaly deleted file (we just want to find what case this mysterious file deletion, I was asked to find how to log it from my boss). I have searched recycle beans ( :))on all servers in replication, but file was not there.

Recently we had some memory errors (RAM) on HP serever, after one of such error server crashed deleting complete directory that was in replication! (We had backups to restore it.)

Turn on auditing for the files / folders and select Delete Success / Failure.

You can then use the event log to monitor.
