Tracking Computer Status 1

I work in a college computer lab and would like to find a script or something that I can use to track the login status of the machines in the lab. We are running 2000 and NT machines. The ultimate goal being some sort of web interface where I could see which machines are logged into at any given time. Sense I have no budget for this project I am looking for a free solution.

I guess I should add something to that. I don't want to run something on the client side that sends a signal, I was thinking of something that would monitor a service that I know runs everytime someone logs in.

Yah, using the Windows Scripting host, you can write a script similar to this one:

that will allow you to enumerate all the computers and who is logged on to them.
