Hi,
I need to investigate methods of monitoring email useage within a single exchange installation.
Ideally, the solution would be the recording of all incoming, outgoing and internal email communications. However, the storage needed would be emense. Regular bricks level backups could take care of recovering any specific message but it doesn't help with looking for, or tracking the message in the first place.
What I'm trying to find is the best mix of methods that could be used to monitor any users email activity (users are aware of this company policy and have signed up to it) - both internal to the exchange server users and also to and from the Internet. Something like a log of all messages (to, from, time, subject, brief part of the email itself but not large) and further tracking information to find a message (from backups if necessary).
Any ideas more than welcome.
