Tracer rounds?

Well, the way I would do it is this:
I would export one frame as a BMP, where I wanted to put the tracer bullet. Then I would draw the line in and add a bit of a glow, using Photoshop. Then I would set that one single frame on a layer above the video in AE.
Bullets are fast -- one frame ought to do it.
You can also do this easy-peasy in Premiere, if you're using that.
