TR0787 Locking of Cube Failed 1

Hi,
New to Cognos, we are using ver 7.3.
I keep getting TR0787 The locking of cube failed,
It is probably in use by another application.
I searched for .lck and .pyi files but didn't find any.
I cleared the temp files and rebooted my server.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

i guess you use McAfee virus scanner?

when transformer is generating a cube it writes temp data to temp files. McAfee will scan these files even when transformer is not finished with those files. and this will lead to these kind of errors.

there are a few options:

1. disable McAfee
2. Use another virusscanner
3. exclude the transformer temp directory from the scanlist.
4. exclude file extentions mdl, pyi and qyi from the list

Thanks for your response. Yes, we use McAfee, I think I will exclude .mdl, .pyi and qyi from the list.
I deleted the .mdc and rebuilt the cube and it was fine.
