Toshiba Tecra 8000 BIOS password help!!!!

Been a while since I've posted a question here , but I hope you guys/gals can help out. We are reloading a laptop that was brought back from the sales group and one of their users put a bios system password which now nobody knows the password. Does anyone know how to remove this password whether tool/trick instead of us having to send it to the toshiba service center?

open the laptop, take out the bios battery, short the battery connections
or use the "clear cmos" option on the motherboard (if any)
