Hello all,
I am having trouble installing a PCI to SCSI driver for the K7T266 Pro motherboard. Every time I boot the system Windows98 finds the device as new. However, I can’t seem to locate the driver anywhere on any of the following CDs: Windows 98, Adaptec EZ-SCSI or HP CD Writer Plus. I would like to use my HP 9200I SCSI CDR/W but I am aussuming because the driver is missing I can’t see the CD R/W. Would anybody be willing to offer advice?
As always thanks for any input.

Is this an on-board scsi or an add-on card, if add-on, what make, Adaptec?

Assuming it's an Adaptec add-on then is there an install or setup program on the EZ-scsi that should be run after bootup instead of an inf file during bootup?

Should find drivers on ezscsi. Should load 2 ro 3 drivers. Maybe you need later to work with 98. Have only done 1 or 2 with 98 and can't remember. Ed Fair

The Add-on is is an Adaptec 2930U SCSI PCI card. I have tried to run the EZ-SCSI setup after the system has booted. I am not sure what Ed is trying to say about working later with 98. The thing is I have installed this exact set-up in the past with out any problems. The only thing really diferent here is I have installed a larger HD and I am basicaly treating it like a new never been run OS.
Thanks

Suggestion was for possible later drivers from adaptec. Non operative suggestion.
Pulled a 95 set for an earlier adaptec. It suggested plug & pray, if P&P fails then CP and add new hardware as starting point with 95 loading built in support. Additional possibility was add new hardware , choose SCSI, choose adapter, load driver automatically.
Possible conflicts with other devices as the possible cause of not loading the drivers.
Until the SCSI adapter is in and working, you won't see your R/W.
How about changing PCI slot? And for diagnosis, you might want to try loading dos drivers on a floppy and seeing if you can access the controller and hard drive there. One other possibility, can you activate a SCSI bios and have it scan the bus. Earlier controllers could. Yours is about 4 generations later than anything I use regularly.

Thanks guys.
I have the SCSI controler working now. I eventualy found the diver I needed at Adaptec. Ed, after I read your first comments. I though about them for a while and then it dawned on me to go to Adaptec. Once again thanks to really great group of people here.
