Hi,

I've got topas on my AIX server but it doesn't want to run - it complains about

0509-150 Dependent module libSpmi.a(spmishr.o) could not be loaded.
0509-022 Cannot load module libSpmi.a(spmishr.o).
0509-026 System error: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.

Do I need to reinstall it? And if so where can I find it?

Thanks for the help.

I think this is just a path problem.

Do

find / -name spmishr* -print

then add the path to your path

PATH=$PATH:/new/path
export PATH

as root:

lppchk -c perfagent.tools

will do a checksum verification on the appropriate files.

If that doesn't flag any errors, it might be a LIBPATH problem. Try:

LIBPATH="" /usr/bin/topas

If lppchk does flag errors and you need to reinstall, you can find perfagent.tools on your installation media.

In order for TOPAS to work correctly you must have the tool installed correctly. You must have the actual program (in /usr/bin) as well as the "libSpmi.a" library installed in /usr/lib and a directory by the same name "libSpmi.a" in /usr/lib/inst_updt. Something like:

/usr/lib
-r--r--r-- 1 bin system 320332 Feb 05 2004 libSpmi.a

...and...

/usr/bin/inst_updt
drwxr-xr-x 2 root system 256 Feb 05 2004 libSpmi.a

as well as the actual program in /usr/bin.
