I just went to your site (approximate 7:50 a.m., EDT) and there's a popunder that comes up before the page completely loads. I'm not trying to be nasty or impolite. I apologize for coming across that way, and do not intend any kind of disrespect for you in this post, either.

I've read and responded to previous posts you've made under at least one other name, trying to help with questions you had about the site you've been working on. The posts that I've recognized from you have all been about adding advertising banners to your site in some form or other. I may have not connected other posts you've made to the names I'd recognized you using. I do Javascript web programming for a web design/host that's over a decade old, and has designed and hosts hundreds of pages for businesses and educational institutions (including state universities), and our experience is that the banner and popup ads create revenue for the SOMEONE, but nothing significant for the people who display the advertising. It also distracts from the site itself by drawing attention to someone else's site instead of your own.

The suggestion for the book was to use as an overall reference, not that it has the specific answer to what you want to do. That kind of thing comes with experience and putting basic things together to make more complex things. This is one of the references I use in doing web programming, and know how useful it is in the long run.
