Looks like a number of kiosks are going to have to dial in to the server to report activity and download updates.

Since I don't know a thing about RAS, I can't make an educated decision about choosing to RAS or to simply connect via MSComm and forget about it. This will be a totally automated connection, without any human intervention or involvement.

I did some searches here at tek-tips but didn't come up with anything usefull... anybody have any experience with RAS, or some good links?

Oh, you poor fellow! What little I do know about RAS's won't even fit in a thimble, but having to use one every now and then has been a pain.

I believe MS has some decent documentation on RAS. Check out their site.

Oh Yeah! You might want to ask this question in the MS OS Forum.

Good Luck

Thanks for the [neutral] encouragement... Mind is made up, not to RAS...

It's easy enough to use a comm control and just send the data and be done with it. Thanks again! [fish] No Dolphins were harmed in the posting of this message... Dolphin Friendly Tuna!

tsk tsk tsk

Naughty tuna, not practicing what tuna preaches...
Why not use the catalyst RAS ocx? It's Easy simple, and free

Take Care

Brother Matt, being that thy mind doth fail thee, I shant chastize thee for thine error!

Tis true, the Tuna has recommended the warez of Catalyst, yet narry a word hath been uttered in commendation for such an OCX! Twas but the Socket Wrench, and nothing more!

Away from me, Nave!

he he he

I'll look into the RAS OCX but I'm almost resigned to MSComm...
