Well actually it's not the question, but now your reading, can anyone help? Customer of mine at work sits behind a proxy server, when they come home they want to plug into their broadband. Is there a way to set their connectivity up to either think there is a proxy server at home, or to ignore the proxy setting if there isn't? No I don’t want to install a proxy server, no their work place wont let them connect without one, and yes I do know that the simple Ethernet to BB router they have at home doesn't have a proxy server built in.
I want to find the equivalent of the 'dial if a network isn't present' button for proxies, but I don't think they've given me one!
Any one got any ideas please.
Thanks and all the best
James

Well at work or at home they should have seperate IP Networks.

So Exclude their home network range from the gateway settings by going to:

Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings -> Advanced (in the proxy section) -> Bypass Proxy (Enter the address of their default gateway at home), this should correct the problem.

Either that or they could just turn off the proxy setting when they go home............

If its just for browsing, how about using Firefox at home - don't import any IE settings, and it won't have any proxy server settings?
