Hi

One of my report is based on a calculated field in a query. It is long expression covering a number of fields in the query.I have a need for another report based on completely different query which also requires that one figure i.e the calculated one in the first query. I tried to bring that field in as well into the second query but the second query becomes too complex.I have already tried various techniques to limit the size of the second query but no luck still. Is there a way to get around this?

Thanks in anticipation

Hi,
If you are using the query designer, base the second query on the first one. Just add the first query to the second. Include just the computed field of the first query in the second query.

Hi
As I have said in my first thread, I have already tried this and the second query becomes too complex i.e. much over the size what Access permits.

I would like to hear an alternative, please.

Hi,
Why don't you then send us a more detailed description as to what data is to be retieved and the table structures? Also send us the SQL View of the queries concerned. Some one will be able to help you.

I am afraid it will be impractical to describe the whole structure etc here. You can see what the problem is anyway. Is there any other way of getting the result using VB coding for example?

Thanks

I am afraid it will be impractical for me to describe the whole structure etc here. Anyway you can see what the problem is. Is there any other way of resolving this using VB code for instance?
