Hello,
I have a Windows 2000 server (service pack 2). Running ORacle 8174 and Oracle 9204.
I have 2 Oracle Homes
ORacle8
ORacle9
I have 2 listeners, Oracle 9 version, running from Oraclehome9 and ORacle 8 running from Oraclehome8. They are configured on different ports and have different names.
I have 2 databases ver8 and ver9. Oracle 8 listener listens to connections requesting ver8 database, and Oracle 9 listener listens to connections requesting ver9 database....obviously!
If I stop the Oracle9 listener, I can no longer connect to the ver8 database. Even though, as far as I can work out, the Oracle 9 listener knows nothing about the ver 8 database.
Any ideas why this might be? Thanks in advance!
