I have a customer with standard reliablity. Definity CMC. He has TN2402 with Soft.Version R011.i.03.0.526.5. I have one spare TN2402 board with Soft.Version 01.0.032.3. Is there any way to make upgrade of spare TN2402 so I can have the same Soft.Version as in customer switch?

You can't backup the generic software from one proccessor to upgrade another. The only why you can do the upgrade is via an upgrade flash card

Not to mention the processor serial #'s will be different.. You can't do what you want to do..

thanks guys. i'm from serbia (europe, ex-yugoslavia). so, as i can see from your post the best thing will be to contact avaya, and to order a upgrade flash card (orange one).
am i right?

The best way to do it is to buy an ATA 128Mg flash card and phone Tier 3 and tell them you want the flash loaded on the Flash Card. They can do it in 15mins. I got the same thing done two weeks ago. No charge. Am happy to lend one to you if you are desperate...but its better you ask Avaya. That way you can keep your own copy.

Mrjedi,
So if you get this flashcard and stuck it into the PCMCIA port and Avaya does their thing--what does this give/do for you?
If you were to experience a problem with the TN2402 could you then shut the system down, swap 2402 boards, insert the 128MB flash card and power up with everything returning to normal?

No, you first need to send the card to Avaya and when you get it back, you do the command: upgrade software and make sure the flash image is loaded into your spare 2402. Once this is done, you can swap it out with any faulty one of the same software load. We normally keep a spare CM 1.3 and CM 2.01 and 9.5 of each type of processor for maintenance stock. When you do have problem, all you have to do is swap the correct version processor.
