I have a Definity G3si R12 Switch -
This is probably an easy question, here's my situation. We had an internal department split off to another building. A new switch was purchased and setup for them. This Department used up 166 of our digital ports in 3 different prologix cabinets.

So I currently have all of these TN2224 cards with like 5 to 10 ports still being used out of the 24 it can handle. Our maintenance is soon to expire on the switch and what I want to do is cut the cost of that renewal by minimizing the amount of Hardware that is currently being used in these 3 cabinets.

So my question is there an easy way to move ports from Card to Card to free up a few TN2224 24 port cards and pop them out. Or do I end up moving wires? Please let me know your thoughts. Sorry about the long explanation. Thanks for your time and help..

Simple answer is you end up moving the wires off of the lightly used cards and over to ports on your other remaining cards. Once you have cleard off the cards you can remove them.

If your frame room was setup well, then it will be very easy to move the jumpers from one port on your block to another. If they are labeled all it is, just moving it. and then changing the port in the switch itself.
