I am experimenting with xp-iso-builder (obtainable free here).

I am especially interested in integrating all current updates - i.e. SP2 right up to the moment and especially IE7.

I downloaded WinBoard.org_UpdatePack_2.21_XP_english.exe from WinBoard.org and managed to unpack it (by default it is a self installer). But that only contains updates that require verification.

I tried searching microsoft.com for an integrated update pack, but without success.

Has anyone done this and if so can they please share their method.

Does such as thing as a full upgrade since last service pack exist or does one have to slog through every KB file by hand to download them?

linney - do you happen to know if slipstreaming is going to be supported in similar way in Vista, given that the install method has been radically changed from XP?

Sorry I don't know the answer to that, there is not much to slipstream into Vista just yet. Based on previous operating systems I do guess that things will be just as possible in the future.

What install method are you talking about? The fact that Vista is more DVD oriented?

I mean the fact that its image based - most of the install is I presume in install.wim. So any slipstream method would need to manipulate those image files, rather than just replace normal files.

@stduc - take a look here also:

NLite...

with NLite you can integrate, remove, etc. basically create an install disk to your liking, read more at the website... it also can use the Update Pack mentioned by Linney...
