Good day,

In the past I wanted to set a fix format for inputting numbers and especially decimal numbers. I've tried to use the Input mask wizard and received the the message that it only works with text.

That on it self discourge the use of an input mask until I decided to change the numbers to text and use the Input Mask wizard. After using a input mask with text did not enter the decimal point in the field and messed the calculations for that field.

Changed the property back to numbers and forgot about the input mask proprety. Started to go back to the input and noticed that I now do have a input mask showing the right number of numbers and a decimal point where I need it and showing up in the on the table in the field.

The format for numbers would be !9.999;;# or !0.000;;#. The !9.999;;# format is easier for the user as not all the places needs to be filled as the first or the last do not have to be entered if zero and could start with the decimal point if needed or the decimal point can be ignored as it would automatically be included in the number. The !0.00;;# format needs all places to be filled with a number.

I hope this helps someone with the same problem as I had.

Hennie
