timeout settings when connecting h323 phone over vpn

Hi All
I have a few 16xx phones connecting to a head office 500v2 over vpns. 1 site has bad broadband so we do see latency and packet loss. intermittently the phone will sit on discover IPO lan address until we reboot it. is there a setting i can edit in the phone files that force the phone to restart automatically or just keep trying the connection? The vpn might drop but it reestablishes, the phone, however, doesn't.
