time to dial

I have staff that are calling various numbers all over the country and even international. The problem they are expereincing is that the line disconnects before they finish dialing. It appears to me that since they are looking at a computer screen to get the numbers and then looking back at their phones they are using too much time back and forth. SO is there a way to extend the dialing time by a second?
