I have a few computers, XP Pro SP2 patched etc. that are NOT domain members (and they need to remain that way).
How can i run something like NET TIME to synch the clocks when these PC's are not member computers on the domain. If i run net time from a DOS prompt then I get an error message. But I can ping the time server which i have on the same IP range and subnet.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

'net time' from the command prompt will give an error if no options are included - net help time will tell you what you need (set & setsntp)

I don't believe your workstations that are not on the domain will sync with a domain time server because they don't have proper Domain privileges with that NTP server.

If they aren't members of the domain, they should have the "Internet Time" tab included with the desktop's clock. You can use this to sync up with whatever outside source your Domain NTP server is using. Double click on the clock and select the "Internet Time" tab. Then type in the same URL that your NTP server is using to sync it's clock.

I do this with a little batch file run at startup on the computers needing to synch which contains:

net time \\computername /set
