Is the S8300 supposed to be reverting to the EDT timezone after every reboot if it is set to be the local clock? There's one particular S8300 that I'm having problems with the time settings whenever it is restarted.

I'm pretty sure there is a way to save time settings on an S8300 that is retained even after reboots but I'm not exactly sure how except through the web interface.

Is the S8300 an LSP? There is a DST patch 12514 that needs to be installed and you can set time on the Web Interface or if it is a stand alone you can do a set time and make sure you have a DST rule.

No it's an ICC. Do I really need a DST rule here even if I'm in Asia?

I don't know about Asia. Do you use any DST in Asia? I have not heard of you not being able to set time and the time not take. Have you tried setting the time, save trans and reset sys 4? You should be able to log into the S8300 at the bash and just type "server" and at the bottom you should see the Translation Time Stamp. If it is the time that you saved translations then do a reset 4. If the time does not stay the way you set it then you should esculate it to Avaya direct. May be even before you reset it go into the web-interface and see if what you set in the CM portion is on the web-interface.

Is there an NTP set up with the S8300 with an IP address?

We don't do DST's in Asia, well as far as SEA is concerned. Unfortunately, there aren't any NTP's setup for the S8300. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try those out when I can.

Also, ocassionally when changing the timezone some error shows up, I'll try to capture a screenshot next time.
