Hi all,

I have been working on an Avaya system for more then 10 years but unfortunatelly I have been out for about 2 years (so lots of stuff has changed) and also worked on a Nortel switch for about a year, that does not help as well :)

So maybe a stupid question but here it goes:
We have a 8300C system in the datacenter and G450 in each location. In each location we have 4620 IP stations for some users.
The issue now is that the time is 1 hour behind from the system time (so the CM has the correct time).
Pressing the Date-Time button does not help and the "System Updates Time on Station Displays?" is set to Y.

To add:
- Language on the phone is English
- phone can't download the txt file from the FTP server

I did not implement the system, I'm assigned to it since last week with no info available.

Thanks for the support,
Erik

I'm not sure, but I think that the fact that the 46xxsettings.txt file can't be downloaded from the TFTP server might be part of the same issue. Do you know why the file can't be downloaded on these stations?

No, unfortunatelly not. It gives a 404 error. So something else to look for :).
But how can that textfile set the time?? In my understanding the phone receives the time from the system????

It does receive the time from the PBX, but the fact that you can't connect to the TFTP server tells me that the time setting is not the only problem. They might not have anything to do with each other but then again, they might.

Are the IP addresses on your phones set manually or through DHCP?

Is the time correct on the PBX? What does "display time" show? you might need to adjust the "change locations"< you can put in an offset their< if they are in different "LOCATIONS" (or timezones)\

Yes, time is correct on the PBX. Daylight saving is on.
I have to admit that at the moment we only have 1 location (we will adding more in the next few months) but all locations are in the same timezone.

This is a dump of the location screen:

Got the answer....

The RULE field in the location screen was wrong.
If the RULE field is 0 means that no day-light saving is on for that site, so even if the time changes and the system time is correct, the time on the phones is not adjusted (even if the offset is 00:00)

I changed the value for the rule field to 1 (the first day-light saving rule) and hey.... time is changed!!
