Please help. I am having trouble transferring tif files into Pagemaker 6.5 Plus. The image is not clear and cannot be linked properly. We are printing this on the HP4500N Laser Printer. I have tried to save it in different formats as jpeg and tif on Photoshop and bring it into Pagemaker. The image quality is so poor.

Lately, I have a message on the screen. (TIMLP231.PPD is not found on system. Default PPD will be substituted. Be sure to check it in the "PPD" popup menu.) How do I do that?

Tran:

Set Image Resolution to High (general settings or page settings .., somewhere).
When you still see a bad image:
Then it is an included crude preview.
The link is perhaps lost. Select image . Go to links and doubleclick. Assign the existing link (path and name).

*.PPD: Postscript Printer Description.
You have selected a non existing PPD.
Reinstall from your printers software to the correct folder.
(Search *.PPD, then you will find the folder)

A couple of suggestions to check concerning TIF graphics.
First off..Pagemaker really does like TIF graphics and states the same in their manual. When importing, you must have your pointer tool (arrow)turned on--not the taxt tool. Next you must go to "Place," then search your directories for wherever you have your TIF graphic stored. When you find it, double-click on the file--and this will bring up a small square icon in Pagemake. From there, you place the TIF graphic in the area desired and simply click. The image can then be size to fit.
If you're having difficulty placing second generation TIG graphics with half-tones, let me know. I have a solution for that problem as well (brain-robbed from a printing outlet).
Good luck!

Could you share that second gen. half-tone TIF tip? I'm an old PageMaker user who just moved into the production industry. I'm an info-seeking missle...

TO: LaManisera...The solution is fairly simple--once explained. Please contact me via my email: <Papajoe32@aol.com>
