Please forgive me if this has been discussed before but I couldn't find anything about this by searching. When using windows explorer set to thumbnails I get different size thumbnails in the same folder. Doesn't matter which folder nor which drive. Since this started a week or so ago, it takes forever for thumbnails to show after clicking on folder. If I refresh the folder after the thumbnails finally show, they all become the same size. Any ideas ? Thanks for your time.

Delete the Thumbs.db file in the folder and subfolders that have the corrupt Thumbnail view enabled, Windows will recreate them at the next logon or folder opening.

In Folder Options under View have you unchecked "Do Not Cache Thumbnails"? To see Hidden and System files, there are two options at this location also which you must set to see them (thumbs.db is a System file) .

This disables automatic storage of folder thumbnails in a cache file. When you store thumbnail images in a cache file, Windows can reuse them instead of creating new ones every time you open a folder. If you disable this automatic storage function, folders that contain thumbnails might take longer to open.

Thanks for your reply Linney, There are no thumbs.db files in any of my folders. I see them every once in while when I download files from someone else though.
I cured my own prob by accident right after I posted on here. Here's what I did and it worked, pc now screams like it should :)

I right clicked on one of the thumbnails, selected properties, and a drop down box showed general/photoshop file/summary. Under photoshop file they're was a box checked that said "create thumbnail" I unchecked it and that solved the problem instantly on all folders on all drives. :)

I'm writing this on my pc at work that also has winxp pro 3 with photoshop installed also, but when I right click on a thumbnail, it doesn't give an option saying "photoshop file". Go figure.
But thanks for your suggestion and your time. Strat
