Thank you for contacting Microsoft Customer Service.
I understand from your e-mail that you are unable to install mdac_type on Microsoft Windows Vista. You are also unable to install Windows Vista Service Pack 1.
Windows Vista no longer uses MDAC, but instead use Windows DAC and it comes with Windows Vista. Windows DAC is included in Windows Vista and is not available separately. However as this is a technical issue that you are experiencing, you may choose to work with our Developer Support Professionals who have the technical expertise to resolve your issue. You may contact them at: (800) 936-4900, (available from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. Pacific Time Monday to Friday), for further assistance.
I also suggest that you access the following link to obtain more information on Data Access Components.
