This psu suitable

HI I would like to change my psu and would like to use to
this one

I'm a bit concerned that my system might be a bit under done for this high end psu but I want a psu that would be suitable for future upgrades
asus P5P800(865pe),550Jcpu,4 80mm case fans,250 sata,80pata,6600gt agp silentpipe,dvd combo drive,5 constant usb items,1gig xms.
This computer is used mainly for gaming buy my sons they play alot of BF2 over long periods it is setup in a large server case so excess cables wouldnt be a problem.There are not a lot over vender options in my area so I'm not able to shop around the above psu is $250.00 australian dollars
any input would be most helpful.

I agree with BadBigBen in that it is more than sufficient albeit pricey.

With 4 12v rails, and PFC, this is the beginnings of a good PSU.

Just checked exchange rates and this is not overly priced as I first thought.

It's actually quite nice to see a user who recognises the importance of a good PSU, so many others are ignorant of the benefits to system stability and reliability.
There really isn't such thing as too much power when it comes to a PSU.
You may not need all of that power now and it might be more money than you need to spend but it certainly will give you peace of mind and a certain amount of future proofing.
Although I've never used this brand I believe that they have a pretty good reputation for build and reliability.

Just a bit concerned that my system might not draw enough power to get this supply to function properly I think it has some minimum requirements .

The price is high but we don't have good on line venders like you guys have .My next choice was a Antec 480w Neopower but its seems to have some problems with some Asus mobos mainly the A8N sli deluxe and I am not willing to take a chance

Well I'm still sure that you won't have any problems, given your list it certainly looks to meet and exceed the min start up loading.

But to be honest once I read the review I have been put off this PSU because of it's single 80mm fan and very high noise levels (nearly 40db at load)

Have done previous google searchers for local online sellers with not much luck found a few but they were a bit pricey .
Used the overclockers link you posted above found a vender two suburbs away they sell the silverstone psu some $60.00 dollars cheaper would have to agree with you on the silverstone noise issue but there is a optional screw on silencer local vender has it for $10.00 (looks bit dodgey).
Think I might go with your advice and look for another psu local vender has a good range, so off I go(note the excitement)thanks again
