This is weird...files turned ALL CAPS and wouldn't work...

I cut my web out of one folder and put in a different one to better organize my computer, and noticed that about half of my .htm files in my web all turned to ALL CAPPED LETTERS (i.e. INDEX.HTM). As a result, they created a second page on my server (i.e. index.htm and INDEX.HTM). I realized it after pages were not being updated.

The question...(alhough I've already manually changed 100 files), how can I do this in the future and why did this happen? Any input is appreciated; thanks.
