I'm testing a page on both IE5 and NS4.75 on UNIX for work, I've posted it on some free webspace ( ) when I go there in IE everything works fine (enter a term eg 'sccb' and a definition is displayed in the text box eg. 'software change control board').
When I use Exceed to connect via a UNIX box running NS4.75 nothing works and I get a javascript error, then I view source and all the JavaScript is missing!! I know the page has finished downloading 'cos the rest of the html is there and if I view source in IE everything is there.
What I need to know is: is this a Netscape problem, a UNIX problem, an Exceed problem, my coding or a problem with the webspace provider (as they add in their own banners). If someone could go there with at least NS4.75 and preferably using a UNIX box and tell me if they see any JavaScript in the source and if so any reason why it wouldn't work in Netscape. I just need to eliminate some of the possible causes.
I'm going crazy here! X-)

It must be a Netscape/Javascript problem, because it didn't work for me in NN4.7x on Win2k. It doesn't seem to like the lines that start with "try{", so you might want to take a look at that...

I had a browser detection script in there but obviously it isn't working. Thanks anyway apc, you've saved me some hassle
