Howdie all!
IP 500 v2 v 9.0
We have a valid CTI link pro license.
Installed TAPI, set as third part with the Administrator password.
Dialer simply crashes.
If you set it as single user = no problems at all...
Any ideas please?

Never had that before but nothing is impssible these days...
Did you select a working phone to link with?

Hi Intrigant ..
not sure what you mean by the working phone...
on a PC near a USer with Extension 210 (for example)
In the Control Panel I set the username and the password for that user.
Dialer (for example) can connect using... AVAYA line 210
When I change on the CP on third party the dialer crashes...
We escaleted it to AVAYA as well but they never came back to us in regards.
License shows as VALID
TAPI I know it to be working as works with Single user...
Banging my head on this one...
I have dealt with several Third Party TAPI before and never had this issue.

Must be something specific on the PC, I just tested here on my testrig and Windows 10 - 64bit PC without a problem.
IP Office 500v2 R9.1.4 and latest TAPI Pro.

Try and run Dialer.exe as administrator. (right click, run as administrator)

however dialer is pretty old now.

Go here: for some useful TAPI tools. The "softphone" is a great tool to test TAPI instances, either first or third party, and requires no installation, just run the executable.

thank you,
I shall try it ..
But I'm thinking... if there was a problem on the PC part.. wouldn't it be on single user too?
As it works brilliant as soon as I change it...

If I select single user and purposely enter the user and a wrong password I get the same error...
Now I wonder... for third party: ok to use the default Administrator password?
Do i need to enable anything on the seecurity settings for TAPI?
Any IP routes? any ports to open?

I wonder...

thank you

Dialler usually crashes if you've installed TAPI3 instead of TAPI2 :-)

GOT IT !!!!!!
it was a security issue...
Administrator was set to Medium...
System unsecure..
used the password: 'password' and it worked !
