thinkpad 770z display

Hello,
i'm having a problem with my thinkpad display - it's working as 16 colors vga after i installed windows 98.
I had a problem before with CD-ROM (it's not detected), but i solved the problem reinstalling (config) the OS.
If you have any idea, i'd appreciate.

Go to the IBM thinkpad support site on the web and download all of the driver files needed for your model.

You installed the video drivers for your model and still can't change the display settings? is that what you are saying? when you check the display properties , under advanced, what does it list as the adapter?
