Ok, all you Avaya gurus. I've got a really wierd one. One of the higher-ups at our company has a very large system currently in his home. We're talking the home itself with over 30 phones in it and 20 barns with a couple of analog phones in each. Here's the hard part. When a call comes in on a particular DID, he wants every phone to ring so that you can just pick up to answer, but each phone should be able to be called individually as well (separate extension numbers) so bridged appearances on the analog phones is out. I'm thinking coverage answer groups, but since that type of group only supports 8 phones, I'm kind of stuck (although we're looking into having the software modified).

Can anyone think of a way to achieve this, even if it means using ec500?

Thoughts????

Thanks in Advance...

Kris

You would be better off adding an external alert or bell (extension) in those areas of those 30 and 20 phones and using a call pickup to grab the call when the Bells ring.

You can also look into the Trunk answer any station feature, however, External bells might be a better choice as they can be placed in each barn and in the main house.

That would reduce the number of extensions that would have to ring and would allow you to put all the analog external bells in a call answer group for the main DID to ring.

Just a thought.

We thought of that, but the problem is that they want to just pick up the phone and not hit anything.

Netcon1 has got a good plan...

Make a call pickup group with all of them in it...

place bells in strategic locations...

Do a call pickup...

You can also do a coverage path with several cov erage answer groups in it...it would of course ring the first 8 and after three rings or whatever, ring the next 8 and after three rings, ring the next 8 etc...

Just make sure that your time settings are long enough for it to ring everyone...

Tell your boss that "he can't have his cake and eat it"

And that he has to hire people smart enough to memorize a call pickup code...

If they can't memorize that...have him put up signs with instructions, and the horses can read the instructions to the users...because it will take some "horse sense"...

Does he actually have a definity in the house?
There are other systems more adaptable to this type of setup.

My little team here put our heads together and couldn't come up with anything. The Definity just isn't built to do that.

Well, our local Avaya people informed me this afternoon that you can now have up to 63 Bridged Appearances for a specific extension.

Cool, it'll now do what we need.

Thanks for your thoughts...
