I keep getting this error when trying to log into Cognos Connetion (ReportNet 1.1 (have not upgraded to any MR yet)).

:::Error Begin:::
The user is already authenticated in the namespace 'Series7'.
:::Error End:::

Has anyone seen this before?
How do I fix it?

Thanks,

Here is where I am at right now. This is how to get the error message.

1. Open web-based application (not a Cognos product)
2. Click on Cognos Reports.
3. User logged into Cognos Connection via SSO.
4. Close window that Cognos Connection is running in (without clicking the Log Off link)
5. This will generate the error in all used browsers (IE, FireFox and Netscape).

Stefan was right that clearing the cookies does fix the issue, however that seems to be a work around. I need to find a solid way to control this.

interesting.... not quite sure how to resolve it...

but.. you know if you have multiple namespaces, you can log on as a user from multiple namespaces in the same browser.. so.. if you have an ldap namespace A, you can go to cog conn and log in under that namespace.. hten without logging out, you can click the logon link again and it will prompt you to log in.. all the namespaces you have will be presented as options except the one you are already logged in under.. so you can now log in as someone from namespace B and then C and so on.

but since you say that you CLOSE the window before this happens, you should automatically be logged out. i believe that there must be some sort of small misconfiguration in the SSO set up.

Suggest: disable SSO and see if you get the same behaviour. if not, double check the SSO settings.
