I have a Proliant ML370 Server that tries to reboot itself,
It usually hangs at the screen " Click OK to restart" and is not accessible to users until it is rebooted,
The Event Viewer reports that "The UPS Service has performed a server shutdown"
Does the UPS think that their has been a power failure?
3 other servers on the same bench are working OK, each has its own UPS, there have been no power failures, If anybody has any suggestions I would be grateful to hear them,

Thanks to all you Tekies out there for your help,
I was parachuted into a Systems Support Job without much training, if it were not for TEK-TIPS I could not have survived, Thanks guys

What UPS hardware are you using?
Does it come with any installation software?
Is the UPS connected to a serial port on the server? [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, the UPS is the one that came with the Compaq server, model T1000 XR, its about 10 months old, it is controlled by NT4 Server and did not come with any software of its own, the LED charge indicator is reading 25%
Is this the problem?

PS it is connected to COM2

Unless you've had a power failure recently, the charge should be 100%, or your batteries are most likely on their last legs (which is a problem, yes). [auto] MCSE NT4/W2K
