Hello all, Prepared the network for netware 6 installation installed 2 NW 6 servers, 1 of the 5.1 sp6 NW server died, I had an old image of the server(like 5 day old before the NW 6 preparation)and now I want to put it back on the network, my question is:
the old image was created 5 day before I have introduced the 2 NW 6 servers and I.m afraid that the old image was going to cause corruption on nds, is there a way to bring this old image server up to date so can be ok once it back on the network?

thanks you all.

Well from my point of view, it can be done this way. But as you say, you cannot determine how NDS will handle this, expecially with the changes that have gone on since the image was taken.

In theory, the replaced server should resynchronise with NDS and all should be well, however this may cause slowness on your network whilst this happens.

You may consider removing the dead server from the tree, placing the image back on, booting it up OFF the network, removing DS off the reimaged server, then readding it back into the tree like this. This would also depend on what NDS partitions the dead server has so there is also a lot to consider doing this procedure as well.
