Hi,

To get the value from cell A1 in sheet 1 to appear in Sheet 2 I would use =Sheet1!A1

I have a sheet called Loss Notification and I am trying to take values from cells from this sheet into Sheet2 using the same method as above.

Why I try this I only get the formula appear in the cell and not the value.
For example ='Plant Loss Notification'!G5

Some of the cells in Loss Notification are merged but have tried it on a none merged cells and it still doesn't work.

Sheet 2 is a worksheet I have added.

Am I missing something here, I just cant see whats wrong.

Please advise.

Is the cell formatted as Text?

Cheers, Glenn.

Did you hear about the literalist show-jumper? He broke his nose jumping against the clock.

The cell was formatted as text but I have changed this but still appears wrong with different formats

Hi

You not only need to change the cell formats to something other than TEXT, but also must EDIT EACH CELL in which a formula resides.

If that doesn't fix it, you haven't chosen to display formulas by accident?

The shortcut key is CTRL+` which is easy to hit by accident if, like me, you use CTRL+TAB to switch between open workbooks and/or CTRL+! to access the format cells dialog.

Happy Friday!
