I am geting this error message on one of our servers..The following boot start drivers failed to load atapi. I have changed the cd rom from a slave to master...reinstalled the drivers from the drivers folder and still not able to get the cd rom to work. I have checked the power supply and can open and close the unit and swapped out the cable. Can anyone tell me what else to look.
The server is running NT 4.0 SP6

Thanks

First see if your BIOS can reconize your CD-ROM during a boot up. If so chances are it's not a hardware issue. For agruments sake you could try a different CD-ROM. You should not "have" to load any drivers for the CD-ROM because Windows "should" do it for you. You could just delete the drivers and do a reboot and see if they reload automatically. Here's an idea might not be the anwser but you could look and check out your IDE dirvers.
