I have a Microsoft VFP application that we have been using for several years. 7 users access the application concurrently during the business day. All 7 PCs are running Windows 2000.
One of the PCs developed a problem with the application last week. The error message "The database is corrupt or invalid, would you like to rebuild the file?" appears every 60-90 minutes while they are using the application. If the user answers "YES", the system allows them to continue using the application.
After about the 4th error, the user will get a "fatal error warning" that terminates the application and creates an entry in the event log. The event log reads "user does not have permissions to use %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\Netlogon.ftl - access denied." I searched Microsoft and their solution is to give the user ownership of Netlogon.ftl. I tried that but it has not helped or hurt the problem.
I have 6-other Windows 2000 PCs running the application without a problem. This particular machine has been running the application for the last 9-12 months without a problem.
Has anyone encountered this before?
Thanks
