THE BEST PLACE TO KEEP A BACK END

I heard that it is better to keep the BE as close to a HDD root as possible, preferably in the root, because the deeper the BE is burried, the slower, a lot slower it gets. It that true, or is this a myth.

The only time I've noticed any degradation in performance is when the network where the BE is located is getting a lot of traffic (and then everything slows down).

Nanoseconds! Who knew they could add up so fast?
