I would like to thank those of you who helped me on my Incident Report Database. I may still finish the project, however, I just sent an email to my manager letting him know that Access cannot handle the large scale application to which he wishes to apply this database. If he wants me to continue to develop it you may see more posts from me. Thanks amillion for the help I did recieve, you guys(and girls) are the greatest!!

Out of curiousity are all managers/clients complete morons? My manager told me that my database was going to be distributed on a large scale, then waited until I told him this was not feasible before telling me he knew it was not feasible on the large scale but to go ahead and program the database anyways!

A very frustrated and ticked off

Maybe he's a moron as you say but maybe he wants to iron out the problems, format and in a general maner define the requirements through your approach then move to something more appropriate with your Analysis and design.

Thank you for that very rational response I have been putting in too many extra hours on this project and my nerves were a bit frazzled. I appreciate the outside view and no, hes not a moron but sometimes he can be infinitley frustrating. Thanks again for the call back to reality

What you need is improve communications with your boss. He should have explained his purpose better. Talk to him openly that way you will improve your understanding, your efficiency and it should greatly diminish your stress level and his probably.

Thank you again for the very sound advice, right now my manager and I work opposite shifts, so communication does have a way of getting garbled, however I soon hope to be transferring to his shift and hopefully this will alleviate most of the miscommunication.

Thanks again
