Can't we all just get along? LOL. As an IT specialist (DBA, programmer, developer, analyst, project manager, etc), I can appreciate the problems we all encounter. The people who answer your questions within these forums do it because they enjoy knowing that they have helped fellow IT specialist. None of us are "paid" for our input and we try to provide the best possible answers. There are times when the users don't take the time to find their own solution expecting "experts" to provide the answer while they continue to collect that paycheck. I just want to say that I appreciate all the help that I get in this Forum and hope that others do too. Being condescending at times is little pain compared to the agonizing time spent trying to solve some of my problems. Thank you again for the solutions provided. I hope we can all treat each other with respect and the same will be returned.

Thank You All for your help!

Somehow I think I caused this message. I did apologize for being condescending. I do try not to be, but don't always succeed. And I won't apologise for the guy I told off for posting his quiz question. It does appall me that people studying to do this for a living would not want to do the work to learn their profession. How will they manage in the ral world with bosses and deadlines?

That said, I do think this is a great place and I too have learned a lot and I thank every one for their help and input.

I agree with both of you. I would also like to thank everyone for their help. Whether your are posting a problem, responding to a thread or even just browsing through the threads there is always something new that you can learn from someone or some scenario.

I have seen people complain about someone's post and criticise the person's response or sql syntx in a negative way. There is no need for that, as we are all busy and don't often have the time to double check or test our syntax. I personally appreciate the fact that people actually take the time to look at my problems and all the others in the forum.

I think that people should start appreciating the time and effort that people put in whether the post is correct or not. Criticism is a good thing when done in the correct way because how do we learn from our mistakes if no one points them out to us?

We are here to help one another and learn from each other and I just want to say thanks for all the help and for the ideas and tips that I have picked up and I trust that the people whom I have assisted have been happy with my responses.

I enjoy being a part of Tek-Tips and a member of this forum.

John
