tftpd32 and loading sip on 1140e telephone

I am trying to get tftpd32 set up on my laptop so I can load SIP 2.2 on an 1140e. I must be missing something (and I'm sure it's a basic thing I have overlooked) because I'm not having success.

tftpd32 is running on my laptop
I have downloaded the sip firmware
I have placed the path to the firmware in the tftp server
I reset the 1140e to have S1 point to the IP address on my laptop (as noted in the tftp server)

When I restart the 1140e I'm getting
Locating Server
Connecting to S1....
Server unreachable

Does anyone have the set up for tftpd32 and a config file for the sip firmware? Any other thoughts?

Your mistake was in setting the S1 to point to the IP address of the laptop. You instead need to set the "Provision" paramater in the "Network Configuration" menu to point to the IP address of the laptop.

You need to modify the 1140e.cfg file (used by UNISTim) to use the filename associated with the SIP firmware. Should also used the DOWNLOAD_MODE FORCED setting. Once that firmware is loaded into the phone, it will restart and subsequently look for an 1140eSIP.cfg file. You will need to configure the latter cfg files as required. Full configuration paramaters are in the SIP Administration Guide.
