If you go to my site you can see that I have created some swap images, also with text which was done in Fireworks, but it's too blurred. Is there a way to make this sharper or maybe with html code? Also the thumbnails space vertically is correct but I can't get the space horizontally to be the same as the vertical part.

thanks

hans

if the text are in the images, then its something to do with the compression you are using for them in Fireworks.

Use Aliased text if you want them sharper, or choose another font.

For layers, go on over to the CSS forum and learn about how to use Relative positioning vs aboslute.

make sure your text images are physically the right size in the first place, dont resize them in dreamweaver, and use another font. Also try using the % sign in the properties box instead of using pixels

or dont anti-alias the text and it will come out crisper [rockband]
whos that behind you?

Use a vector drawing package (Freehand, corel draw etc) to produce the type, then export it as a gif,(or jpeg). Do NOT resize the image file in DW, further, if you take it into FW for any reason...bluuur. Produce it from the vector thru the graphic via the export process in the drawing program at exactly the right size. This will produce much sharper type than anything I have tried in FW.
You might have to tool around a litle to work out the differences between what yr vector package thinks a pixel is and what gif or jpeg think it is, but you'll get it eventually, then just keep on using it.
