Dear frends plz help

How to show the border line onto the text field in forms like we can see in the XP interface secondly the distance between the text boxes always gets disturbed while the form runs how ever it shows up fine enough when in the design mode.

Thanks

Although Oracle states that using coordination units of points is the only guaranteed way of producing portable code, I have always worked in pixels. This prevents the problems of alignment of items as you describe. Change the coordination units in the form properties.

I'm not sure I fully understand your first question. Do you want to change the border of text items to look like XP? If so, I think you'll find the borders as suppied in Oracle forms are the only ones you can choose.

yes i want the text boxes to look like these are into the WinXP interface (ie with nobevel and border around the box) also these boxes show up into the design mode as i want but as the form is run the borders would vanish.

best regards
take care

Is

[tt]Set_Item_Property('<item name>',BORDER_BEVEL,PLAIN);[/tt]

what you need?

thanks lewisp 4 this effeort
but i think its to make the bevel propety to none.

i can do it pretty good but i want some sort of outline to be shown around the text box. ( like white box with black outline )

many thanks and regards

The only way I have acheived this in the past is to place either a black boilerplate box underneath the text item that is 1 point/pixel wider on all edgesso that a sinle line of black show around the item. Similarly, I have also used display items with no bevel that have a background colour set to black. You can then programatically resize and position the display items to suit your needs.

thanks lewisp but it would be much time taking.

many thanks for ur time & patience
