How can I seize a CO trunk to test it?

Are you trying to test the board,or members? You could do facility test calls (as seen in your maintenance manual) to test individual members.

what I want to do is test a trunk member through a phone set.

Facility test calls is what you want, but it will not work on a PRI, (if that is what you are working on) unless you have an endpoint administered. Look in the book for info on how to do it!
