One of my clients has recently changed to their hosting from win 2000 to an apache server. Their site will now be using php and mysql.

I currently have IIS installed and runing as a local testing server. I was using this to test asp with ms access. I am trying to decide how to proceed on setting up my testing server with php and mysql capabilities. Should I stick with my IIS or should install apache? Will there be issues with using a local IIS testing server and a remote apache server. Do php and mysql work the same on both server types?

Thanks in advance for any advice
Ed

php is php and MySql is MySql no matter what the host system.

If you are testing on Windows and production is on *nix be aware of the case issue. Where *nix is case sensitive, windows isn't.

Also if you need to use any settings in the Apache config files you will end up testing on the production server, without a local Apache server running.
