I have 2 systems; 43Ps, and I would like to learn HACMP with them.

Currently I don't have no shared storage, is it still possible for me to learn the basics of HA?

TIA

It is still possible, but the only thing you will be able to test is takeovers of the IP adresses, but no other resources.Still good for learning how HA works though.

rgds,

You must have shared storage between at least two nodes to fully test the HACMP. As my friend RMGBELGIUM said that you can test takeover of IPs but you will have a better picture if you had a shared storage somewhere.

Go for it!

Have fun testing various application startup policies, fallback policies, your application servers, ip and no-ip heartbeats (serial), new user and SNMP security enhancements, etc. While shared storage enhances HACMP functionality, many applications do not depend on it.

Storage just adds another layer of complexity.
