I am writing an application to push a new application file to different workstations on the network. Before the old application is overwritten, I want to check to see if it is open. Hopefully to prevent any data problems.

The users are supposed to be notified of the new version and close the old, but that does not always happen.

I have searched all over for a solution, but nothing has worked.

The file type is *.mde.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
